Dear Cousins in Holdrege,

This time I will try to write in Swedish. If it turns out to be too difficult to read, you can perhaps get someone to translate it.

I received your Christmas letter and enjoyed reading it. Many thanks for that!

It was nice to hear that you are doing well. I am also feeling fine, as is my family. We have had a very mild winter so far, which suits me well. I remember the cold winters in Nebraska, and I do not miss them!

Now I want to tell you that my mother’s aunt, Augusta, passed away in January. She had been ill for quite some time and had moved to a nursing home in Moline, Illinois, where she spent her final days. She was over 80 years old.

I have written to Sweden to inform our relatives there about her passing. I also asked them if they could find out more about our grandmother’s family. I hope to receive a response soon.

I wonder if you have any old letters or documents from our grandmother or her family? If so, I would be very interested in seeing them.
